Product Information - Point of View Telescopes

  • The head (the telescope casing) is custom cast from marine resistant aluminum and powder coat painted. It is weather resistant as   a result of multiple O-rings. The head is purged with a dry gas to eliminate condensation caused by variation in temperature.
  • The telescope is fixed focus. There is always a clear view through a Point of View telescope, regardless of weather conditions.
  • The Point of View Telescope is vandal resistant and low maintenance.
  • The 20x power optical system provides sufficient eye relief so that visitors can wear eyeglasses while using the Point of View telescope.
  • The pyramid-shaped base is built of stainless steel which will never rust.
  • The all-electronic design provides superior reliability. There are no springs which can rust or moving parts which can fail. POV’s telescope has 3 parts from a maintenance perspective. A rechargeable battery, a printed circuit board and a coin acceptor. All parts are interchangeable and easily replaced in the field. The battery charge will last from 6 months to 1 year depending on conditions. The printed circuit board is conformal coated and weatherproof.
  • Point of View Telescopes have two service doors. The upper service door provides access to the battery, the coin acceptor and the circuit board. The lower service door provides access to the coins and is used to read the coin counter which can be engaged or unplugged.
  • Point of View Telescopes come with a rechargeable sealed 12 v battery (SLA). It is only 7” long and fits inside the base on a shelf.
  • Point of View Telescopes come with a one year Limited Warranty.
  • Point of View Telescopes have a 33% longer viewing time compared to most other telescopes.
